Tuesday's Tech Tips: Rogue Anti-Virus PDF Print E-mail

The most prevalent type of infection effecting computers the past couple of years is what's known as the rogue antivirus. These clever malicious applications start out by displaying a pop us window that looks like a virus scanner with a message saying your system is infected.

The window also suggests to "click here" to clean your system. What can you do? First, don't click on the pop up! Then, immediately scan your system with a scanner that specializes in removing these fake antivirus applications. Active DataComm suggests the free version of MalwareBytes AntiMalware. Download it free at Active DataComm's website at callactive.com. If you can't get rid of it, not to worry, the technicians at Active DataComm can do it for you!
